Reunite Michel and Heidi with their Mother Myrna

On April 14, 2016, Michel 9 yrs and Heidy 13 went to Mexico to meet their mother with the hope that they can be a family. It was a tearful meeting and they knew that the struggle was going to long and hard.

Against all odds they are a family today. Myrna, Heidy and Michel will be going to NY. More photos, videos and information will follow when we greet Myrna with joy and happiness of her homecoming.

The New Sanctuary Coalition of NYC celebrates this reunification, recognizing the hardship caused by our immigration system that does not take into account the needs of families, especially young children. We hope that moving forward our government sees the light and passes fair and humane immigration policies that respect the rights and dignity of all human beings.

Reunite Michel and Heidi with their mother Myrna. Allow Myrna to enter the US and to be with her family.

On April 14th Michele and Heidi are going to Mexico where their mother is trapped to walk across the International Bridge from Nuevo Laredo to Laredo US. We are asking Customs and Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to give her permission to be with her daughters.

Why is this important?

It is important that we keep our families together. Children flourish when they have their parents with them. It is important for the family and it is important for the community.

Michele is 9 years old and Heidi is 14. This is a very critical time of their young lives and they need to have their parents with them. Michele cries every night to be with her mother. The only reason that Myrna cannot be with her daughters is that she does not have a piece of paper that says that she is allowed to enter into the US.

Both Michel and Heidi are United States citizens but they cannot legally petition for their mother to come into the country because they are too young. And the fact that they are too young also means that this is the time they need their mother the most. Why are they being punished just for being young and children?

Good news. Michel and Myrna have crossed the border safely. Myrna is in custody.

BUT they promised to RELEASE her to the custody of the family.

Today Michel and Heidy will fly to Texas and then drive to Mexico where they will meet with her mother on Wednesday April 13.
